Nomination Process

 

The A. Richard Newton Technical Impact Award in Electronic Design Automation recognizes a person or persons for an outstanding technical contribution within the scope of electronic design automation, as evidenced by a paper published at least ten years before the presentation of the award at the upcoming Design Automation Conference.

 

The nomination can be made by anyone who is familiar with the individual’s or group’s work. The nominations are completed online. 

 

Before you complete the online form you must have the following information and supporting documents to complete the nomination:

 

  • Name, affiliation, and contact information of the nominating individual
  • The nominated paper and authors to be honored, including their biographical information, professional activities, publications, and other recognitions/awards
  • Proposed citation (which ACM SIGDA and IEEE CEDA may adjust)
  • A PDF copy of the paper to upload with the nomination form
  • You will complete a description of the impact of the paper over at least 10 years. Consider what advancements have been enabled by the ideas presented in the paper. Include evidence of follow-up research as reflected in citations, evidence of usage of the described technology in an industrial setting, or evidence of starting new directions and/or spawning new ideas as appropriate.
